Girls volleyball: Batavia falls to St. Francis

Jenna Garrett had 33 assists, the second highest in her career, but Batavia's girls volleyball team fell to St. Francis 16-25, 25-22, 25-23 in a nonconference match Wednesday night.

Garrett added 16 digs, 2 aces and 1 block for the Bulldogs (9-7) while Hannah Yaconis had a career-high 13 kills to go with 2 blocks, Sam Juarez added 12 digs, 10 kills, 1 block and 4 aces and Cordelia Smith had 9 kills, 2 aces and 1 block.

Batavia had 43 kills in the match, which is third all-time in school history.
