Girls volleyball: Lakes tops Marian Central to remain unbeaten

Lakes d. Marian Central: Lakes kept its big winning streak intact, moving to 12-0 on the season, with a 22-25, 25-18, 25-11 victory over Marian Central on Monday.

Erica Grant topped Lakes with a season-high 19 kills while Alyssa Bombicino had 11 digs.

Setters Devinn Bell each and Rachel Orpano had 17 and 16 assists respectively.

Stevenson d. Lake Forest: Stevenson got a 25-10, 25-20 win over Lake Forest to improve to 8-7 on the season.

Sophie Sorenson led Stevenson with 9 kills. She also had 2 aces and 7 digs.

Setter Alex Cuc had 19 assists and Chloe Robinson and Lauren Micek each had 10 digs.

Libertyville d. Waukegan: Libertyville cruised to a 25-17, 25-20 sweep of Waukegan.

Freshmen Kellie Hopper and Ella Schaffnit led the Wildcats with 7 and 5 kills respectively.

Kailey Christensen had 13 assists and Morgan DeGregor had 8 digs.

Carmel d. Grant: Carmel moved to 6-6 on the season with a 25-17, 25-18 win over Grant.

Alyssa Dellert had 9 kills for Carmel while Alyssa Donton had 18 assists. The Corsairs' defense was led by Madi Meyer and Mia DiBartolo, who had 14 and 11 digs respectively.

Grant was led by Megan Mitchell,who had 7 kills and 5 digs. Katy Fisher added 9 digs.

Deerfield d. Vernon Hills: Vernon Hills dropped to 3-8 on the season with a 25-20, 25-18 loss to Deerfield.
