Boys soccer: Dundee-Crown, St. Edward remain undefeated

The Dundee-Crown boys soccer team improved to 6-0 overall and 1-0 in conference with a 2-0 Fox Valley Conference win over Huntley Tuesday.

D-C's goal scoring came from Gerardo Estrada and Eric Martinez while Julian Ajroja and Jabari Washington dished out assists. Chargers goalie Damien Smiech tallied a shutout with 5 saves. The Chargers meet unbeaten Elgin (5-0-1) in nonconference action at Memorial Field in Elgin Thursday at 4:30 p.m.

St. Edward 4, Glenbard South 1: The Green Wave stayed hot and moved to 8-0 in a Metro Suburban crossover win. AJ Franklin led the way with 2 goals and 1 assist while Josh Johansen registered 1 goal and 1 assist. Will Gaston also scored and Emilio Martinez also assisted. Keeper Evan Sajtar had 5 saves.

Hampshire 3, Sterling 1: Ryan Heileman's hat trick highlighted a nonconference win for the Whip-Purs, who improved to 6-1 overall after winning the Johnsburg Rigby Challenge over the weekend. Jack Fairwood helped control the midfield in the win, where Hampshire saw goalie Andrew Krajecki manage 5 saves.

Streamwood 3, Batavia 0: The Sabres (5-2, 1-0) used a collective approach to dispose the Bulldogs in UEC River action. Five different players contributed, as Gregorio Esteves, Aldo Lazaro and Oscar Chavez all scored goals whereas Jose Ibarra and Jesus Limon had assists. Keeper Daniel Dominguez earned a shutout with 3 saves.

Geneva 5, Larkin 0: The Vikings (4-1-1, 1-0) were all over the Royals in a UEC River win thanks to Eric Anderson's hat trick. Nick Dispensa and Sean Geismann also had goals while Ivan Vilchis and Jack Cottrell provided assists. Jeffrey Bode earned a shutout in goal with 4 saves.

Kaneland 2, Morris 1: In this Northern Illinois Big XII win, Alex Dohm and Tucker Jahns booted home 2 first half goals for the Knights (1-2-1, 1-0). Brian Bartholomew also had an assist.

CL South 2, DeKalb 2: The Gators (5-1-1) rallied from a 2-1 deficit at the half to tie the Barbs in DeKalb. Tommy Ciezaldo's second half goal prevented a loss while Nikolas Getzinger added South's first goal. Ryan Coughlin provided 1 assist while keepers Brandon Gorka (1 save) and Nicolas McDaniel (3 saves) kept the Barbs at bay.

Harvest Christian 1, Schaumburg Christian 0: The Lions (1-1-1) earned their first win of the year thanks to Patrick D'Alessandro's goal to break a scoreless tie in the second half. Zach Floyd provided the assist and goalie Matthew Baron needed 5 saves to nail down a clean sheet.
