Girls volleyball: Lakes remains unbeaten
Erica Grant posted 9 kills and 3 blocks, as Lakes' girls volleyball team improved to 9-0 by beating Carmel 25-15, 25-20 in nonconference action Thursday night.
Katie Billetdeaux added 6 kills for the Eagles, while Ayssa Bombicino registered 15 digs. Rachel Orpano added 8 assists, 1 ace and 7 digs. Devinn Bell also dished out 8 assists.
Lakes notched 10 blocks.
Mundelein d. Grayslake North: Alexis Naddy slammed 3 kills, and the Mustangs won the nonconference match 25-23, 25-17.
Isabella Cartland had 3 kills and 2 aces for Mundelein (3-6), and Claudia Wilcox also served 2 aces.
For Grayslake North, Alyssa Gerzel had 3 kills, 2 aces and 8 digs. The Knights' other contributors included Lindsey Deip (7 assists, 5 digs), Abby Cunningham (5 assists, 2 aces, 6 digs), Jessica Pozezinski (3 kills) and Erin McBriarty (8 digs).
Glenbrook South d. Grayslake Central: The Rams lost 25-18, 26-24 in nonconference action, despite Lauren LaBeck setting 70 of 70 with 20 assists.
Amber Moser had 7 kills for Grayslake Central (3-6), while Cassidy Beshel totaled 6 kills and 2 blocks. Abby Marassa and Lizzie Twardock contributed 18 and 10 digs, respectively, and Katie Bullman had a pair of blocks.
