Boys soccer: Jacobs knocks off Conant

The Jacobs boys soccer team won the Red Group in a clean sweep at the Barrington Classic Thursday thanks to a 4-2 win over Conant. Golden Eagles (3-2) forward Noah Melick scored 2 second half goals while Colin Walsh and Jimmy Kooi each had 1 goal and 1 assist. Gabe Swarthout and Dan Buirge added assists while keeper Preston Kral made 6 saves in net for Jacobs, which after an 0-2 start has won 3-straight.

Prairie Ridge 2, Burlington Central 1: The Rockets fell to 0-3-1 after a nonconference loss to the Wolves. It was tied at the half thanks to Jack Schramme's goal via MaCallan Butler's assist. Goalie Ryan Parson kept Central in it with 11 saves.

Aurora Christian 6, Westminster Christian 3: Will Kmeiciak had 2 goals and 1 assists for the Warrors in a Northeastern Athletic loss that saw Westminster up at the half 2-1. Mason Runkle had the other Warriors goal while Ben Versluys and Lee Grasemann had 1 assist each.
