Girls volleyball: Buffalo Grove opens season with two-set win

Buffalo Grove's girls volleyball team kicked off its season with a 25-21, 26-24 triumph over visiting Maine East on Monday night .

Leading the Bison on attack were Claire Ferris (7 kills), Mary Nowlan (4 kills), Lauren Horvath (4 kills) and Sasha Rozhko (4 kills).

Olivia Morini, Maggie Streckert and Nowlan each had a pair of aces while Streckert set the offense with 17 assists.

Ferris led the Bison defense with 8 digs followed by Riley Cross (6), Morini (4) and Streckert (4).

Abigail Kim and Nowlan had 4 and 3 blocks, respectively.
