Baseball: Boley's big day leads Larkin to UEC win
Gunnar Boley had a big day at the plate going 4-for-4 with a double and 2 runs scored Monday to lead Larkin to a 7-4 Upstate Eight Conference baseball win over West Chicago.
Jackson Reuter added a double for the Royals (10-13, 7-11) and Jeff Althamer drove in 2 runs.
Max Anderson picked up the win on the mound.
Streamwood 12, Elgin 2: Winning pitcher Colin Caminitti had 3 hits with a double and 5 RBI as Streamwood (11-12, 6-11) won in the UEC. Jesse Rico added 3 hits with a double and an RBI for the Sabres while Michael Pawilkowski had a double and 2 RBI and A.J. Reyna drove in 2 runs. On the mound, Caminitti gave up 5 hits with 7 strikeouts and no walks in 6 innings of work. Kyle Coates had a double for Elgin (4-19, 2-12).
Huntley 1, McHenry 0: Joe Boland drove in Tyler Koss with the game's only run in the fifth inning as the Red Raiders (23-4, 15-2) won this Fox Valley Conference game. Nick Laxner went 4 innings and allowed 4 hits with 3 strikeouts and no walks to earn the win and Cole Raines picked up the save.
CL South 8, Hampshire 4: Ryan Parquette had 3 hits and an RBI while Nick Wolski hit a 2-run home run to lead Crystal Lake South (23-1, 14-1) to an FVC win. Mark Paul went 4 innings in relief to earn the win on the mound, allowing 3 hits with 2 strikeouts and 1 walk. Pawel Barnas had 2 hits and 2 RBI and Noah Schrader added a double for Hampshire (7-19-1, 2-15).
Jacobs 10, Prairie Ridge 6: Daniel Klein homered, Ryan McGorrian doubled with an RBI and Ian Oreskovich had 2 hits with an RBI for Jacobs (14-12, 6-11) in its FVC win. Justin Kavrisa pitched a complete game for the win, allowing 7 hits with 5 strikeouts and 1 walk.
CL Central 8, Dundee-Crown 3: Scott Wojcik had 2 doubles, Erik Hedmark a double and an RBI and Conor Ryan 2 hits with an RBI for Dundee-Crown (9-14, 6-13) in its FVC loss.
Yorkville 4, Kaneland 3: Luke Gomes and Luke Calabrese (RBI) each had 2 hits and Jack Marshall added a double for Kaneland (15-11, 7-5) in this Northern Illinois Big XII East loss.
Johnsburg 4, Burlington Central 1: Clay Milas had 2 hits for the Rockets (20-6, 10-3) in a Kishwaukee River loss. David Lauber took the loss for BC despite allowing no earned runs. Central committed 4 errors in the game.
Harvest Christian 6, Aurora Christian 1: Dayne Frederick had a 3-run triple, Drew Lewis doubled and Joey Pepper had 2 hits and 2 RBI to lead Harvest Christian (22-5, 11-2) to a Northeastern Athletic Conference win. Lewis picked up the win on the hill, allowing 7 hits with 3 strikeouts and no walks. Sam Tickel had a double and Clark Turek added 2 hits for Aurora Christian (16-8, 13-3).
ACC 7, Fenton 6: Michael Bieterman (2 hits, 2 RBI), Austin Berens (2B, RBI) and Patrick Flanagan (3B, 2 RBI) led the Aurora Central offense in this Metro Suburban win. Jimmy Laurenti picked up the pitching win for the Chargers (17-7-1, 6-2).
St. Charles North 13, Waubonsie Valley 3: Anthony Delisi had 2 hits with a double, home run and 4 RBI as the North Stars (24-2) won this nonconference game. Also contributing for SCN were Zach Mettetal (2 hits, 2B, 3B, 4 RBI), Ralph Rhoades (2 RBI) and Christian Erickson (2B, RBI). Steve Hamer was the winning pitcher.
