Softball: Rosary's Young shuts out Naperville North

Abby Young tossed a 4-hit shutout leading Rosary to a 4-0 nonconference win over Naperville North on Friday.

Mikayla Cassidy and Natalya Flowers both had 2 hits to lead the Royals (16-6). Xandria Olsen singled and scored twice, and Krystal Cortes and Maura VanBogaert both went 1-for-3 with an RBI.

Huntley 7, Bartlett 1: The Red Raiders (19-5) pounded 12 hits to bounce back from a loss to Cary-Grove on Thursday. Caitlin Brown homered, Autumn Kasal went 3-for-4, and Taylor Pacana, Sofia Tenuta, Jacquelyn Dorin and Rylie Porretto all had 2 hits.

Tiffany Giese didn't walk a batter and struck out five to improve to 18-4.

Stevenson 11, Cary-Grove 0: Alyssa Gurgone had the only hit for the Trojans (4-15) in the nonconference loss.
