Baseball: Murphy multi-tasks as Mundelein wins again

Monday was another big day for Brendan Murphy, who was 3-for-3 at the plate with an in-the-park grand slam as Mundelein topped Warren 9-3 for a big North Suburban Conference victory.

Murphy accounted for 6 RBI for the Mustangs, who keep on winning.

Mundelein is now 19-0 overall and 10-0 in the North Suburban Conference.

Oh yeah, and Murphy got the pitching win, too: tallying 4 strikeouts in six innings. He gave up only 2 hits.

Steven Sanchez added 2 hits for Mundelein while Mason Schaller belted a double.

Carmel 13, Notre Dame 3: Eddie Pietschmann rolled up 3 hits and drove in 2 runs to lead Carmel.

Drew Wiegman and Ben Weigman each had 2 hits and 2 RBI.

Wauconda 12, Antioch 2: Wauconda racked up 13 hits in the win.

Jake Harmon had 3 hits to lead the Bulldogs while Brock Glavey and Dan Sperling each had 2 hits.

Sperling was also the winning pitcher.

Ben Gutke led Antioch with 3 hits.
