Girls soccer: Two wins at Prospect for Lake Zurich
Rebecca Kubin led the way as Lake Zurich's girls soccer team won more two more games Friday night to extend its winning streak to 10 games.
Competing at Prospect, the Bears (10-2) beat Lake Park 4-0 and University High 1-0.
Kubin scored 3 goals against Lake Park, and Kyra Ripoli had a goal and an assist. Samantha Hartman, Kristin Brousseau and Rachel Krueger also had assists.
Kubin tallied the game's only goal against University High off an assist from Brousseau.
Madison Hart earned the shutout in both matches.
Antioch 5, Winnebago 0: At Freeport, Rachel Moore netted a hat trick, giving her 15 goals for the season, and freshman Briana Galan scored her first goal.
Ella Roberts had a goal and an assist for Antioch (9-3-2). Morgan Keefer, Megan Helgesen and Sarah Smith also had assists, and Monica Wilheld made 3 saves in earning the shutout.
Antioch resumes the tournament against Sycamore at 10:45 a.m. Saturday.
