Matt Vass struck out eight and allowed no hits in 6⅔ innings to lift the Mustangs (6-8, 3-6) to victory in the DuPage Valley. Ashton Creal went 2-for-4 with 2 RBI and Jake Kmiecik also drove in 2 runs.
Naperville North 11, Lake Park 5:
Jack Ginzkey drove in 3 runs and Cliff Vickers added 2 RBI for the Huskies (5-8, 5-2) in their DuPage Valley win. Winning pitcher Jarred Dunnett struck out seven in 5 innings. Zach Aehlert went 2-for-4 and Ian Renger had 2 RBI for Lake Park (7-6, 3-4).
Glenbard East 11, West Aurora 1:
The Rams (10-7, 3-2) scored twice in the bottom of the fifth inning to end their Upstate Eight victory. Bret Bushka, who drove in 3 runs, and Tommy Wilkans went 3-for-3. Nathan Bertuca had 2 hits and 2 RBI. Conner Grzenia was the winning pitcher.
Neuqua Valley 5, WW South 3:
With the score tied 3-3, the Wildcats (16-0-1, 9-0) scored twice in the bottom of the sixth on Drew O'Toole's single to win in the DuPage Valley. Evan Ranneklev homered. Mason LeBreck was the winning pitcher in relief of Austin Waeghe. Brad Novak went 2-for-2 with an RBI for WW South (6-10, 3-6).
St. Francis 5, St. Joseph 0:
The Spartans (7-6, 5-1) notched their second straight Chicago Catholic League shutout and third in five games as Nick Kosmetatos allowed 2 hits in 6 innings. Kosmetatos also doubled twice and drove in 4 runs.
Willowbrook 12, Morton 2:
The Warriors (12-1, 4-0) swept in the West Suburban Gold. Jon Kelso went 3-for-3 with 2 triples and 3 RBI. Kyle Ferguson, Trevor Jaloszynski, Mike Dembowski and Jack Hines drove in 2 runs. Winning pitcher Jack Nilles scattered 4 hits in 5 innings.
Addison Trail 12, Proviso East 1:
The Blazers (8-5, 5-1) scored in all five innings of their West Suburban Gold victory. Matt Crandall, Mike Scali and A.J. Parnell drove in 2 runs. Winning pitcher Trevor Fulmer allowed 1 hit in 3 innings.
Glenbard South 14, St. Edward 1:
Christian Dupuis went 3-for-4 with 2 doubles and 4 RBI and winning pitcher Jack Crouch struck out six in a 1-hitter for the Raiders (5-8). Dan Opem went 3-for-3 with 2 RBI. Mike Paprota and Crouch also drove in 2 runs.
Downers North 12, Glenbard West 2:
Adam Bandola and Sampson Cogger went 2-for-4 and combined for 7 RBI as the Trojans (9-7, 3-3) took two of three in the West Suburban Silver series. Nick Bacarella got the win, striking out four in 5 innings. Matt Skelton went 2-for-3 with an RBI for Glenbard West (5-11, 2-6).
Downers South 8, Hinsdale South 3:
The Mustangs (11-6, 5-2) broke out to a 4-0 lead to win the West Suburban Gold series. Nick Stacey went 2-for-4 with 3 RBI while Keegan Garland went 3-for-4. Andrew Alfini pitched into the sixth inning to earn the win, striking out seven. Danny Mazzei went 2-for-3 with an RBI for Hinsdale South (9-4, 4-4).
Westmont 9, Northridge Prep 0:
Alex Marotta went 3-for-4 with 2 doubles and 5 RBI for the Sentinels (11-8). Joe Donovan added 2 hits. Michael Kokoszka was the winning pitcher.
