Baseball: Warren finishes sweep of Lake Zurich

Robert Archbold and Ricky Lee both went 3-for-4, and Warren's baseball team beat Lake Zurich 9-1 Wednesday to complete a three-game sweep this week in North Suburban Conference action.

Archbold doubled and knocked in 4 runs. Warren (10-5, 5-3) got 2-for-4 efforts from Matt Temaner and Sam Deluca (double, 3 runs).

Pasquale Defilippis earned the complete-game win, allowing 7 hits, striking out five and not walking a batter.

Tyler Snep homered for Lake Zurich's lone run. Michael Chialdikas was 3-for-3 with a double for the Bears.

Libertyville 5, Lake Forest 1: Collin Fields pitched 6⅔ innings for the win, allowing 1 run (unearned) and 4 hits, while striking out eight and walking one, as the Wildcats completed a three-game sweep of the North Suburban series this week.

Nick Angel was 2-for-4 with an RBI for Libertyville (14-3, 8-1), and Dan Marks had a single and 2 RBI.

Stevenson 15, Zion-Benton 5: The Patriots beat the Zee-Bees for the third time in as many days, receiving 2 hits apiece from Henry Marchese, Evan Kiah and Scotty Max in the North Suburban contest, which lasted five innings.

Marchese, Benjamin Chestler and Hayden Brotz all doubled for Stevenson (9-6, 3-4). Michael Sobel allowed 1 run over 3 innings to earn the win.

Mundelein 9, Waukegan 0: Mason Schaller was 3-for-4 with a double, and winning pitcher Will Michalski struck out seven in 5 innings, as the undefeated Mustangs completed a three-game sweep of the North Suburban series.

Andrew Beres was 2-for-3 with 2 doubles for Mundelein (17-0, 9-0), and Brendan Murphy went 2-for-2. Nick Stricker also had a double.
