Nobody hurt in Cary barn fire
A barn was damaged in a fire near Cary Saturday afternoon, but nobody was injured, officials said.
Firefighters were called to the fire on the 1600 block of Longview Drive about 12:42 p.m., according to Cary Fire Department Battalion Chief Ken Destree.
The metal pole barn and its contents - old machinery and race cars - were destroyed, Destree said. The fire wasn't under control until about 4 p.m., and a loader was brought in to pull apart the barn.
A damage estimate was not immediately available, Destree said.
