Native culture on display at Naper Settlement pow wow

Cultural demonstrations, native drum groups, archery displays and more highlighted the 24th annual Midwest SOARRING Foundation Harvest Pow Wow hosted Sunday by the Naper Settlement in Naperville.

Traditional pow wows are held to celebrate life, renew friendships and share Native American culture through dance, drumming, art and story telling.

Other features of the event included native flute players, a birds of prey exhibit and flintknapping (arrowhead making). Vendors also were on hand selling arts and crafts, as well as food and refreshments.
