St. Charles Township man facing drug, weapon charges

An 18-year-old St. Charles Township man faces felony charges after police said they found him with a gun and illegal drugs in his vehicle Saturday night.

Eric R. Fabisiak, of the 6N block of Aurora Avenue, was charged with armed violence, unlawful delivery of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a controlled substance and three counts of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, according to a news release from the Kane County state's attorney's office.

Fabisiak was driving a white Ford about 9:15 p.m. in the 1600 block of East Main Street, St. Charles, when he was pulled over for having only one functioning headlight, authorities said.

During the traffic stop, police found Fabisiak with 1 to 15 grams of a substance containing cocaine with the intent to deliver, according to the state's attorney's office. Authorities say Fabisiak also was armed with a "loaded, uncased and immediately accessible" revolver. He did not have a Firearm Owner's Identification card.

Kane County Associate Judge Kathryn Karayannis set Fabisiak's bail at $50,000 on Sunday. His next court date is July 27.
