Woman charged with vandalizing Wheeling home and vehicles

A Wheeling woman who prosecutors say spray-painted vulgar words on a Wheeling home and on two cars parked outside it and poured a mixture of bleach and syrup into the gas tanks faces charges of criminal damage to property.

Caitlin Jensen, 21, received a $10,000 I-bond Friday, prosecutors said. An I-bond allows her to be released on her own recognizance.

The home belongs to a relative of a woman who dated Jensen's boyfriend, prosecutors said.

The investigation of the January incident revealed the cars had "scratches consistent with being keyed," said Cook County Assistant State's Attorney Ryan DeGroot. Eggs were smashed on a car, he said.

Police identified Jensen after they matched blood from one of the vehicle's gas caps to her, DeGroot said.
