Aurora fireworks show canceled due to severe weather

The Fourth of July fireworks show in Aurora was canceled Wednesday because of an approaching thunderstorm.

McCullough and RiverEdge parks were evacuated about 9 p.m., city officials said on Twitter.

Food vendors, inflatables and music had filled the parks for the city's Independence Day celebration.

The city has not announced whether the fireworks display will be rescheduled.
