Services set for Rosemont village attorney

A visitation will be held Tuesday for Rosemont Village Attorney Peter Coblentz, who died Saturday.

Coblentz, 65, was co-founder and a partner at the Chicago-based law firm Rosenthal, Murphey, Coblentz & Donahue, which counts Rosemont and a number of other suburban municipalities as clients.

He represented the village since Peter Rosenthal's passing in 2010. Rosenthal had served as village attorney for 30 years.

Other governmental clients of Coblentz's included Leyden Township and Deerfield.

Coblentz, born in Milwaukee and raised in Rockford, graduated from the Loyola University School of Law in 1978. There, he met his wife, who asked him out in their second year, and they married after graduation, according to his obituary. They lived in Winnetka since 1980.

Visitation is scheduled from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, at Donnellan Family Funeral Home, 10045 Skokie Boulevard in Skokie. A funeral Mass is scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday at Ss. Faith, Hope & Charity Catholic Church, 191 Linden St. in Winnetka.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Lou and Jean Malnati Brain Tumor Institute at Northwestern University.

Coblentz is survived by his wife, four children and five grandchildren.
