Identity of man found dead in Arlington Heights remains withheld

Authorities said Monday they are still trying to track down next of kin for the homeless man found dead last week in downtown Arlington Heights, and as such, his identity remains withheld.

Becky Schlikerman, a spokeswoman for the Cook County medical examiner's office, also said the cause and manner of the 65-year-old man's death is pending.

Arlington Heights police said last week the manner of death appeared to be natural, and they did not suspect foul play.

Police received a 911 call about 3:30 p.m. last Thursday from someone who saw the unresponsive man lying in a landscaped area near the intersection of Arlington Heights Road and Northwest Highway. The landscaped triangle area is in a highly visible area, located near a number of shops and the train station.
