Two struck by gunfire near Glen Ellyn

The DuPage County sheriff's office is investigating a shooting Tuesday night in an unincorporated area near Glen Ellyn.

Sheriff's deputies arrived about 10:50 p.m. to the area of Route 53 and Butterfield Road after receiving a report of shots fired. According to the department, at least one person fired a gun from one moving vehicle into another. The authorities believe that the vehicle used in the shooting is a dark-colored Ford sedan with tinted windows.

Two people struck by the gunfire drove to Elmhurst Hospital for treatment but did not report to the authorities that they were victims of the shooting. Both individuals have refused to cooperate with investigators.
