Man shot in neck outside Round Lake Heights sports bar

Round Lake Heights police are investigating a shooting early Saturday in the parking lot of a sports bar that left a 32-year-old Lake County man hospitalized, but stable, with a gunshot wound to the neck.

Police were called to the sports bar at 900 W. Rollins Road at 3:49 a.m. after a shot was fired.

A witness reported that a heavyset black man wearing all black clothing and a black hat had fired a single shot at another man in the parking lot, then fled north, according to a police news release.

The victim wasn't present and no other witnesses were located.

A short time later, Northwestern Medicine Emergency Center in Grayslake reported a walk-in patient with a gunshot wound.

The victim was transferred to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, where he underwent surgery, according to the release.

Police are continuing to investigate and asked that anyone with information email crimetip@rlhpd.org.
