No injuries after car crashes into District 15 bus

No injuries were reported Tuesday afternoon after a car collided with a Palatine Township Elementary District 15 bus carrying nine young students, officials said.

District 15 spokeswoman Morgan Delack said the children were being driven to Gray M. Sanborn Elementary School in Palatine for a kindergarten session that started at 12:50 p.m.

Delack said one car crashed into another at Smith Street and Northwest Highway. One of the vehicles then deflected into the rear of the District 15 bus.

Palatine paramedics examined the children and cleared them to go to school. She said the students also were examined by a Sanborn nurse. Parents were quickly notified about what happened, Delack said.
