Early voting starts today

Voters looking to cast a ballot ahead of the March 20 primary will be able to do so at scores of early voting sites throughout the suburbs beginning today.

The dates and hours of operation vary among the multitude of suburban sites, though many will offer early voting every day until the primary. Most early voting sites are open to all registered voters, though some serve only residents of a particular town. Check with the county election officials' websites to learn more.

In Cook County, Clerk David Orr's website - cookcountyclerk.com - has a link to a list of 53 suburban early voting sites.

The DuPage Election Commission's website - dupageco.org/election - provides visitors with a link to a printable list of early 12 voting sites and hours of operation.

There are 18 early voting sites in Kane County, according to the clerk's website - kanecountyelections.org - and a mobile early voting option also is available that will make stops at several Jewel-Osco locations throughout the county leading up to the primary.

In Lake County, there will be 15 early voting sites, according to the lakecountyil.gov.

McHenry County voters will have 10 early voting sites. A list is available at the county clerk's website, co.mchenry.il.us.

For Will County voters, 21 early voting sites will operate ahead of the primary. A list of options is at thewillcountyclerk.com.

Aurora voters can cast early ballots at two sites, the Aurora Election Commission offices or Phillips Park. Information on early voting is available at auroravotes.org.
