Palatine High School to host 'Cupcakes for a Cause' March 10

The Palatine High School Special Education Department will host its biennial Cupcakes for a Cause from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 10, in the cafeteria of the high school at 1111 N. Rohlwing Road in Palatine.

Admission is free and open to the public. Cupcakes will be sold for $2 each or $20 per dozen. The event will include raffles and a cupcake judging contest.

Funds raised are used to support such organizations as Special Olympics, Best Buddies, Pep Club and Northwest Special Recreation Association.

Photos Hot Dogs in Palatine has donated $4,000 in gift cards, coupon books and party packages, while the Chick-Fil-A in Kildeer has donated 155 free kids meals, event chairwoman Dawn Shepherd said.

She added that the event brings in such substantial funds that the department typically holds it only every other year.
