Traffic stop leads to meth charges for two

A reckless driver complaint lead Chester police to arrest two in connection to felony drug charges.

Alicia L. Tucker, 36, of Granite City and Mark A. Hart, 38, of Evansville were arrested Feb. 18 on felony drug possession and distribution charges as a result of a traffic stop, according to a police report.

Police were alerted to be on the look out for a silver Kia SUV southbound on Palestine Road in reference to a reckless driving complaint. Officers located the and stopped the vehicle. A search of the vehicle found both the driver, Tucker, and passenger, Hart, collectively in possession of as much as 11 grams of suspected methamphetamine.

Tucker has been charged with unlawful possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver more than 5 grams, but less than 15 grams, a class 1 felony, along with a number of traffic-related citations. Hart has been charged with Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine, less than 5 grams, a class 3 felony.

Both were being held in Randolph County jail, according to Randolph County Sheriff's department information.
