St. Clement Community Foundation offers scholarships

The St. Clement Community Foundation is now accepting applications for a one-time, $2,000 scholarship award to students pursuing degrees in the health care field.

The scholarship awards will be made to students from the service area of the former St. Clement Hospital and Maria Care facilities (Monroe and Randolph counties and the St. Clair county communities of Marissa, New Athens and Lenzburg). At least one of the $2,000 scholarships will be awarded to a current employee, or the spouse or dependent, of Red Bud Regional Hospital or Red Bud Nursing Home.

The scholarship is intended to support deserving students in their academic endeavors and the development of quality health care professionals in this region.

The foundation strongly encourages scholarship recipients, upon completion of their program of study, to seek employment in the health care field in this geographic area in keeping with the mission of this foundation is to ensure the availability and enhancement of health care services to residence of our area.

The application deadline is March 23. Applications must be postmarked no later than that date or submitted electronically at http://www.stclementcf.org/content/grants-scholarships
