Palatine Township GOP endorses Rauner

The Palatine Township Republican Organization is endorsing Gov. Bruce Rauner in the GOP primary over challenger state Rep. Jeanne Ives, organization leaders have announced.

"Hundreds of Republicans voted in our endorsement session," said township Committeeman Aaron Del Mar. "They listened to the candidates, asked some very probing questions and then voted for their choices."

Organization guidelines require that a candidate receive 60 percent of the votes to receive an endorsement. Rauner was endorsed after receiving 72 percent. For attorney general, Erika Harold received the endorsement after receiving 65 percent of the vote. Garry Grasso received 35 percent.

Neither Susan Groebner or Gary Seyring received more than 60 percent of the vote in one Cook County judge race. In another, Daniel Patrick Fitzgerald received 73 percent of the vote to earn an endorsement.
