Freezing fog could make your commute tough in Cook, DuPage counties

Drivers in Cook and DuPage counties are being warned to slow down on their morning commute due to freezing fog in the area that could make roads slick, officials from the National Weather Service say.

Patchy, freezing fog is developing early outside in the suburbs and will likely continue through daybreak, the warning from the National Weather Service reads.

Visibility could be reduced to a quarter-mile, officials said.

Untreated roads will be slippery, especially on bridges and overpasses.

More snow is expected late tonight and early Wednesday morning.
