History comes alive at the Kane County Fairgrounds

The second annual American Heritage Living History Show opened Saturday at the Kane County Fairgrounds, 525 S. Randall Road, St. Charles, featuring 18th century and later craftsmen, merchants, demonstrators and artisans showing off their wares. It continues from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.

Rebecca and Jim Fairchild, who live in Batavia and organized the show, own Spring Valley Lodges, which manufactures tents, canvas items, stoves and custom historic clothing.

Admission is $7; children younger than 12 are admitted free.
