Two hurt in crash on westbound I-90

Two people were seriously injured in a crash involving multiple vehicles that caused significant traffic delays on westbound Interstate 90 between Meacham and Roselle Roads in Schaumburg Thursday evening.

A total of eight firefighter units from the Schaumburg Fire Department responded to a call of a car crash near the interchange of I-90 and I-290 to find three vehicles on the shoulder and median, according to Frank Chambers of the Schaumburg Fire Department.

Chopper units transported one adult patient to Saint Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates, and paramedics from the Arlington Heights Fire Department transported a second adult patient to Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, Chambers said.

Both victims were reported to have serious injuries but were in stable condition, according to Chambers.
