Highland Park MLK event

Highland Park plays host to its ninth annual Martin Luther King Day of Service from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 15, at the Recreation Center of Highland Park, 1207 Park Ave West.

The event, featuring a variety of service projects and service vendors collecting donations for causes, is sponsored by Highland Park's Human Relations Commission and the Park District of Highland Park. Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White will discuss his experiences as a student of Dr. King. The Jesse White Tumblers will perform. There is on-site parking, with overflow parking at Wolters Field.
