Wonder Lake man killed in McHenry crash

One man died in a car crash in McHenry early Tuesday morning.

The car crashed in the 6500 block of Route 120 at 12:26 a.m. Both the driver and passenger were taken to Centegra McHenry Medical Center.

Jose Luis Ortiz Reyes, the passenger, was pronounced dead in the emergency room at 12:55 a.m. The 22-year-old of Wonder Lake suffered blunt force trauma to the chest and abdomen, according to the McHenry County coroner's office.

The McHenry Police Department was unable to comment on the driver's condition at this time.

The crash is still under investigation.
