Wheeling gives village manager $4,000 pay raise

Wheeling Village Manager Jon Sfondilis is in line for another pay raise, though this increase is smaller than the one he got in January.

The village board unanimously approved hiking Sfondilis' salary to $189,162 from $185,000. That's a 2.25 percent increase.

Eleven months ago, the village board rewarded Sfondilis with a 5 percent raise.

Sfondilis has worked for the village since 1993, rising through the ranks until his promotion to village manager in 2011.

The pay increase goes into effect Jan. 1.
