District 95 board to finalize bond issue plan

The Lake Zurich Unit District 95 school board will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday to finalize discussions and vote on whether to put a bond referendum on the March 20 primary election ballot to support facility improvements. The meeting will be in the Lake Zurich High School library. The referendum plan has been discussed by the board for months. District 95's debt is close to being retired, so officials are considering reissuing it at a lower rate to save residents money on taxes and provide funds to improve facilities. The community has helped shape the plan. This fall, the district led a series of community meetings about the future of district facilities and received feedback from nearly 300 people. More than 1,000 people participated in subsequent phone surveys on the topic.
