Wauconda students help hurricane victims

Students at Robert Crown Elementary School in Wauconda sold beaded necklaces during lunch periods in mid-November to raise money for hurricane victims in Puerto Rico.

The First Class Council and a group called STRONG raised more than $1,533 and collected school supplies that will be shipped to a school in Jayuya, Puerto Rico.

Crown Elementary first-grade teacher Anabel Soto attended the school when she was a child.
