Salvi appointed Lake County circuit court judge

The Illinois Supreme Court has appointed Associate Lake County Judge Joseph V. Salvi to serve as a circuit court judge, a post for which he will seek election next year.

Salvi, previously a partner in the Lake Zurich law firm Salvi, Salvi & Wifler, has served as an associate judge since 2013. He was assigned to the criminal division until 2015 and more recently presided in the civil/family division.

"As a lifelong resident of Lake County, I am honored to continue my judicial career and run for circuit judge in a community that means so much to me and my family," Salvi said in a news release. "If elected, I hope to continue to build strong relationships with the community and demonstrate a strong commitment to the county and bar."

Salvi was appointed to a judicial post from the 5th Subcircuit, which includes the Barrington area, as well as Island Lake, Lake Zurich, Lakemoor, Round Lake and Wauconda.
