Each $5 recycling rebate results in an estimated 2.5 hours of free talk time. Items can be taken to the Vernon Hills police station, 754 Lakeview Parkway; village hall, 290 Evergreen Drive; or the public works facility, 490 Greenleaf Drive. Visit www.vernonhills.org/ or contact Community Service Officer Lon Paulausky at lpaulaus@vhills.org. Information about the organization, including it's history, is at www.cellphonesforsoldiers.com.
