Lake County circuit clerk now accepting online payments

The Lake County circuit clerk announced Wednesday that payments for certain criminal and traffic cases can now be made online at www.lakecountycircuitclerk.org, where there are instructions in more than 50 languages.

The office also has established a call center to help people without computer access make payments over the phone, according to a news release.

The clerk's office said it worked with its current credit card vendor to establish the online and call center payment options at no additional expense. With the new offering, Lake County, the third-largest county in Illinois, joins the more than 70 percent of other counties in the state that already offer online payments.
