Suspect in Lake County armed robbery captured

Lake County authorities on Thursday announced the arrest of a 25-year-old man wanted in connection with an armed robbery last week in Zion.

Michael L. Scott, of the 2400 block of Jackson Street in Waukegan, was captured Tuesday by members of the Lake County Sheriff's Office Warrants Team and U.S. Marshals Service - Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force, while hiding at another Waukegan home, authorities said.

Scott was wanted on charges of armed robbery and aggravated battery in connection with an Oct. 6 holdup, as well as a separate arrest warrant stemming from a charge of unlawful use of a weapon by a felon, police said.

Scott was taken to the Lake County jail, where he remained in custody Thursday on $750,000 bail. He is scheduled to appear in court Oct. 30.
