Gurnee students celebrate Hispanic Heritage

Students, parents and school faculty joined in the spirit of the Hispanic Heritage Celebration on Thursday evening at Prairie Trail School in Wadsworth.

Students from four schools in Gurnee School District 56 participated in the celebration by marching in the parade of flags and leading audience members in the Mexican hat dance and the Macarena.

Native-speaking students presented a video they created in Spanish class, and there was a performance from a local dance troupe, Ballet Folklórico Tayahua.
