Stephen Stills, Judy Collins to play Arcada in St. Charles

Tickets to see singers-songwriters Stephen Stills and Judy Collins recount their tumultuous love affair through song will be available for purchase Thursday.

The folk icons will join one another at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 17, at the Arcada Theatre, 105 E. Main St., St. Charles.

The tour marks the first time the artists have been on stage together, according to the musicians' joint website.

Tickets will be on sale for $25 each starting at noon Thursday at arcadalive.com.

Still and Collins met in 1967, and dated for two years. Stills wrote his love song to Collins, "Suite: Judy Blue Eyes" shortly after leaving Buffalo Springfield and joining Crosby, Stills & Nash. The song has since been ranked No. 418 in Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Songs Of All Time Poll, according to a news release.

Stills recently released an album with The Rides, a blues-rock supergroup he formed in 2013 with Kenny Wayne Shepherd and Barry Goldberg, and is in the process of finishing his autobiography.

Collins, who released an album in 2015 and 2016, was recently described by The New York Times as the "ageless wild angel of pop." She also released her book chronicling her struggle with compulsive overeating, "Cravings: How I Conquered Food" earlier this year.

Her 2016 "Silver Skies Blue" duets album with Ari Hest earned a Grammy nomination for Best Folk Album.
