No injuries as fire hits 2 houses near Glen Ellyn

Firefighters are investigating the cause of a blaze Monday that did serious damage to one house and then spread across the lawn to a second residence on the 1N700 block of Forest Ave. near Glen Ellyn, authorities said.

Glen Ellyn Assistant Fire Chief Jim Sisson said no injuries were reported. He said the first crews on the scene reported seeing heavy smoke.

Investigators remained on the scene late Monday afternoon.
