Riddick appointed new District 21 board member

Wheeling Township Elementary District 21 has a new school board member - the second to join the board this year.

Board members selected Jessica Jacobson Riddick to fill the vacancy created in August by the resignation of Pamela Becker Dean, who is moving outside of the district's boundaries. Riddick, of Buffalo Grove, was one of nine applicants for the vacant seat.

She most recently was an attorney with Hodges, Loizzi, Eisenhammer, Rodick & Kohn, LLP, a law firm specializing in school law. She once served as assistant general counsel for the Illinois State Board of Education. Riddick is also involved with the Tarkington Elementary School Parent Teacher Organization.

Jennifer Tani was appointed in June to a seat formerly held by Jeff Battinus, who was elected in April to the Wheeling Township board. Tani and Riddick will both serve until April 2019.
