Libertyville community bike ride Sept. 23
The Libertyville Bicycle Commission is hosting a community bike ride on Saturday, Sept. 23.
Riders can meet in the parking lot at Riverside Park near the Des Plaines River any time from 9 a.m. to noon to sign up. Event is weather dependent.
Riders will start on Riverside Drive to East Rockland Road to the Des Plaines River Trail to St. Mary's Road, and then loop around the Old School Forest Preserve. Once the loop is complete, riders can head back to Riverside Park.
George Garner Cyclery will have staff on site to perform safety checks on bikes and show the correct way to wear a bicycle helmet.
All riders must wear a helmet and sign a hold harmless release form. For more information, call (847) 247-5432 and ask for Laura.
