Smoke from Canadian wildfires blows into suburbs

A haze of smoke descended on parts of Kane, Lake and McHenry counties Thursday as a result of the jet stream pushing smoke from Canadian forest fires, authorities said.

The smoke is from wildfires in the Western Canadian provinces of Saskatchewan and Manitoba.

Authorities advise residents with respiratory concerns to stay indoors but said the smoke is nothing to be concerned about.
