Parades highlight Grayslake's Summer Days festival

Parades highlighted the Grayslake Chamber of Commerce & Industry's Summer Days events Saturday.

A pet and bike parade, a bags tournament, go-kart races and children's entertainer Dave Rudolf were part of the festivities. The fest kicked off Saturday at noon with rides, games, food booths and attractions.

Live entertainment included the bands Slam Funk, Svelte Bobby and the Soulfixers, HiFi Superstar and Modern Day Romeos.

The annual Grayslake Summer Days parade stepped off from Grayslake Central High School at 6:30 p.m., with the theme of "Celebrating the Arts in Grayslake!"
