Vernon Hills public works hosts open house Aug. 30

Vernon Hills public works will hold its annual open house from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 30, at its facility, 490 Greenleaf Drive.
Kids can climb on or interact with equipment and vehicles, including Clarke's Pilot Pete and the jet ranger helicopter. Visitors also can meet with department staff, and there will be exhibits, activities, food and giveaways.
Lake County public works, Solid Waste Agency of Lake County and Vernon Hills Park District also will be represented. Visit http://www.vernonhills.org/ for more information.
