Walkers stroll around Cougars' ballpark for a good cause

The warning track at Northwestern Medicine Field in Geneva was a crowded place Sunday, but it wasn't because of a bevy of deep fly balls at the home of the Kane County Cougars.

Instead, it was walkers who packed the track for the Scleroderma Foundation of Greater Chicago's 4th annual Reason to Rock Fun Walk and '50s Fest.

The event raised money to support those living with scleroderma, a chronic, often progressive, autoimmune disease in which the immune system attacks its own body.

The fest featured a 1-mile fun walk at noon, followed by a '50s-themed party with food, music, activities for kids and a classic car show. Young participants were encouraged to bring their baseball gloves o play catch in the outfield.
