Sheep star in Naperville's 'Animals, Animals!' event for kids

Lions and tigers and bears and ... sheep! Oh, my.

The "Animals, Animals!" theme of the Naperville Plays! events for kids took a turn for the fields Sunday at the Naper Settlement museum, with shepherding demonstrations and a focus on the animal known best as "Baa, Baa Black Sheep."

It's not every day suburbanites get to see sheep in person, but the settlement's focus on Naperville's agricultural history brought out a small flock for fun and play during the afternoon event.

Sponsored as well by the Naperville Public Library and the DuPage Children's Museum, Sunday's installment of Naperville Plays! also featured animal stories and other hands-on activities focused on farmyard friends.
