Schaumburg Township homeowners can appeal taxes

Schaumburg Township residents who believe their property has been over-assessed have 30 days to file appeals from Aug. 14 to Sept. 14.

The township assessor's office can assist property owners with the appeals process and filing. Appeals should be filed with the Cook County Assessor's Office.

"Property owners should strongly consider reviewing their property tax assessments as they can often be lowered after careful analysis and assistance," Schaumburg Township Assessor John R. Lawson said.

Any questions can be directed to Schaumburg Township Assessor's Office at (847) 884-0030 between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
